X-Frame cylinder holes

I know its been asked before but the search wont work. How far away from the front shock hole do i drill for the center of the cylinder on a x frame ?

Yeaa cuzz ive been messing around with the cylinders, put the arm back on and was looking to find the right area but damnn its a little hard. Even with the cylinder in hand and putting it up top to find the right spot i can see there is no way i can cut using the shock hole as a center guide.

Ive seen that done. And its not a bad idea. But I want to keep it as OG as possible. I would like to go with the other option of not cutting that up.
