    Engine & Trans allready installed
Can anyone provide a good step by step link or pictures on how to install and adjust the TV cable for a 700R4 to a Rochester Quadrajet Carb? Cant ride without it. Thanks!

you need the brackets to mount the cable, and the bracket to correct the geometry of the swing if its not original to the carb. once the cable is mounted correctly. push the button it and slide teh cable all the way back,or to where its loose, then push the gas pedal to the floor to pull the cable back out. it supposed to set by its self

The engine & trans are already installed in the car so hooking the cable up to the transmission would be to the hard part. Would I have to drop the trans to get the cable plugged in since 3 1/2 in exhaust pipes blocking the way? Thanks! for the other advise though!

So me and my bro spent a good 6 hours in 15 degree weather trying to put the cable on the kick down hook in the transmission every time we would get it on and gently pull the cable it would come off. Any suggestions?

Yeah it does have a hook on it so I we got it connected but now the problem I'm running into is the bolt that locks it down LOL not enough room to do anything so I'll have to figure that out. The hard part is over thankfully. I'll keep you all posted!

I tried that but I still didn't have room because there are custom 3 1/2 inch exhaust pipes on the side of it. So I found a rather unconventional way of tightening the bolt.

    1. Put multiple socket extensions together to make a 3 ft long extension.

    2. Then on the end of the socket extensions put a flexible extension.

    3. Run the extension down the right side of the distributor at an angle towards the transmission.

    4. Have a friend hold the socket in place on the bolt while you tighten from the top.

    Sounds crazy but it works.
