use a 350 or 700r4, http://www.transmissionadapters.com/...V8%20Style.htm, then you will need a driveshaft made and a rearend t replace the one you got now, use a g body rear.
if a bitch with big tits can work at hooters
then why can't a hoe with one leg work at IHOP?

Hey waitress, here's 50 bucks, take this in case I get drunk and call you a bitch later.

get a powerglide, or keep the three speed. My 51 is 3 on the tree and it's not hard to drive all day.

powerglides came with 235's but I know an old guy in NC that put one on his 41's (a rag and a hard top) and the engines are just fine. He had to do a torque tube swap and that was it. He did it him self and the 216 is running great.
