Well, I have a pitbull Rednose....full blooded....with papers. His dad weighed 100 lbs.

My dog is 9 months old and weighs 70

I had a ukc named monstro he was 9 months and weighed 90 lbs I had to get rid of him cause I had to move. I used to breed pits and for me, a 100 pound female is the smallest i'll buy. Im just not in to the lankey long snout pits. be looking like a damb doberman. I really dont give a fuck if ADBA says its not a "real pit"

Its true that the standard is between 40 to 60 pds but do your research on the breed and you will find that there where some game dogs over 70 pds "Catch weight" . Hell look in the history books Mason's "Hog" was a big ass dog, and shit if your really into the sport then you should have heard of GrandChampion MAYDAY he was a big dog. The issue with these huge dogs in the pit has been that they didnt have any "wind" meaning they couldn't last over 20min or so. If you go down south or out west where they hunt hogs you will see some huge as pits. Becareful looking for one of these huge pits the sometimes have alot of problems because they are being line breed. I had a Colby/Manson dog that came in at 75pds. Great dog but I had to put him down at the age of 6 because his back legs where fucked up. If any want to debate this issue or just talk about Pits please drop me a line.

heres another pic everyone i talked to includeing his vet has said a good weight for a black nose is 50-70 pounds but they have also said different types of pits have different hight and weight ranges

--- In teh 1800's the pitbull was to be on the average of 30 pounds or so ..... NEVER to be of 100 pounds ...... Them large dogs are cross bred in my mind with large breeds -- How many Terriers do you see that are of other breeds & over 40pounds ???? NOT MANY AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rat terriers, fox terriers,jack russel, smooth coated or not ect -- they were all originally breed to hunt out small rodents & such & to be able to get into burrows of these animals & chase them out for pest control.... Terriers are all known for thier active lifestyles & therefore that pitbull was based on that strain & crossed with other dogs of such that gave them stronger bodies & of what the simple minded people only think of -- The head!!!!!

She is of "Wildside" kennel blood named after her great grandmothers sister "Squirley Shirley", grandMother is Wildsides Punkin , related to Ch.honeybunch , Riptide & so on ........ I named her "Shirley Temple" ( My grandmas favorite actress ) I was supposed to give her to my Grandmother but , i ended up keeping her & gave my grandma another female from our litter.....She is about 8-9 months here & is now almost 2

well normal....average....what is supposed to be or not....they do exist. I think that you are interested in maybe the Camelot or Dagger Bloodline. Males range in size of 95 pounds to 127 pounds. Females are 75 to 105 pounds. Here are a few pics....hope you enjoy....and oh yeah my buddy down the street has three and the biggest is 135lbs and the other 2 are around 105lbs. They drag his skinny ass around the block all the time. Ofcoarse everthing has an average but that doesnt mean its not possible. Hell men and women have an average weight but we all see how different that can be!

I wouldn't own a scrawny 50lb pit bull...............If I want something under 80lbs I'll stick with my boxers but I wouldn't a pit that weight less than my boxer

anyone who really wants to know more about the breed i suggest
any of richard strattons books, i dont agree with everything he says, but,
overall he moreknolegable then most of the authors books i have read,
anyone can go buy a pit, but how much do you really know about the breed
and its history, sound like a few of you do,as i have heard a couple of you mention breeders, colby ect.
my preference is smaller dogs myself, uncropped ears,
if you read about old school breeders, you you would would understand why,
i can talk to someone for 30 seconds and tell if they know squat about there dog or not, if you like big dogs cool...but is it just because they look tuffer....???
chances are your not getting a quality game dog.....
im not into fighting dogs at all, but i have been around the breed since i was 13, and im 30 now......
best advice i can give to anyone is,read richard strattons book" this is the american pitbull terrior" cover looks cheesy, but great book to start with, then go to his next books, you will learn alot, and real pitbull owners will give you more respect if you know what the hell you are talking about..im not saying i know it all because i dont, but, like i said i have been around, when your ready to buy a dog know what you want and why....

I bread pits for a while before I went to bootcamp. Ive had everything from big pretty pits like the ones posted by SOLISCUSTOMS, to 30 lb game males, to ugly ass half greyhound half ridgeback pits like the boy STREET SWEEPAZ posted .

But my opinion is, just cause the books say pits are supposed to be 30 to 45 lbs doesnt mean they are, what the fuck would most of us be driving if we lived by the book? not low lows i'll tell you that, "cause the book doesnt recomend you change anything".
