I can still get Fenner heads... real nice ones with ported inlets and outlets... they work nice.. and they last longer than any Aluminum pump head on the market...

#6 is good for hopping and #8 was good for dancing... the #6 was a better gear though.... all American made stuff.. dosn't lose it's tolerences inside because it's steel.... no seals to worry about inside... nice bearings on the shafts... Quality stuff... Fenner was the original liftgate pump head for 20 years... improvements were made to them near the end for lowriders... They last almost forever...

They went to Marz around 1998 when they were looking for cheaper stuff... I will give Marz pumps heads this though... they put out a shit load of pressure when they're new but once they get old performance drops as lower pressure output.....
blueouija
Marz has these seals that go... also the other picture is the friction bearing for the gear shafts... sad.gif

They are expensive because they don't make them anymore.. but you can get them for 120-180... Just make sure what your getting is a real FENNER... it will look like the one in my first picture... Some places sell cheap copies of these pump heads..

#6 has smaller gears it's a high pressure unit.. they are ported for more flow with a slight decrease of pressure... pressure is everything when hopping...

The #8 has larger gears is also high pressure but because of the the porting and large gears it movers more oil... better flow. The #8 can't handle as much abuse where the #6 is almost bulletproof...

but no pump head is perfect...
LA FAMILIA C.C.
So basicly the #6 would end up been like a 9 Marz and the 8 like an 11mar

thumbsup.gif close but not exactly the Marz is bigger in that case so it moves more oil..
blueouija
A #6 will keep up with 48volts no problem

SO that what you need isn't it
Pressure and more fluid for a faster reaction.

Correct you'll need a bigger pump head.... because in having larger lines you lose pressure... you gain flow though... so in that case i'd run a #8 Fenner...

blueouija
Also lest turns in the plumbing of the system help... try not to use 90 degree fittings when possible... Large checks help protect your pumpheads and good dumps catch any pressure that you may be losing with other dumps..

I heard you before saying you were going to get an Adex? They are worth every penny... you'll notice instant added performance of your system...

This brings me to the conclussion that Marzzocci are better and cheaper the only down fall is that the seals wears out after a few years or depending and how you geat on your pumps.

Price wise yes... quality wise no.. Marz is a good hopping pump but in the long run it's not cost effective.. I'll show you some of our fenner equipt vehicles soon.. you'll be impressed.. wink.gif

The Adex is not for me biggrin.gif
I don't think that bigger check valves protect the pump heads .bigger check = more flow but a bigger or stronger pumped is need so the fluid burst through the check if i'm not mistaking

See the problem with alot of pump heads when they fail is because there is a ton of pressure forcing the gears towards the bottom of the cloverleaf in the gear pump.. that causes galling and mechanical failure... a bigger check will ease that problem.. The crack pressure is fairly low on most if the checks like the parker 1/2 inch ones...
