I'm planning on installing a 700r4 on my 63 Impala ss with a 327 and was wanting to know how much should I shorten the drive shaft and what type of rear end would be best plan on running 13 x7 wires and hydraulics

I would measure the length once the 700r is mounted. Then shorten the drive shaft accordingly.

Will having a telescopic driveshaft solve this issue easily?

talk with a driveline shop. dont cut it and weld it yourself, it needs to be balanced and square. if you talk with a driveline shop they will tell you exactly what to measure... usually from yoke to yoke or whatever. they make specific drivelines already for that application. heres one on ebay
