It's not a myth.
It can add to problems, especially on long drives on the highway.
The weight of the car
Rear end gears
Tranny
Tire & wheel size
All play a part

My rear end went bad on me because of that, changed rear end, never had the problem again..I actually went with a rear end off of a 4 door caddi, mine is a 2 door,a saves alot of gas too..... :0Originally posted by OGJordan@Aug 18 2006, 06:39 AM~5992834
By using the numbers on tire, a 13 is only around 1" smaller than a 14. Small rims in general are bad on the tranny. If you're doing 55 but the speedometer says 85, there's a problem.

Can this problem be solved without having to go with a bigger rim ?
Yeah and RPM's is another thing, especially if you have 2spd PG trans. 35MPH at 3500 RPM aint no joke.Originally posted by OGJordan@Aug 18 2006, 06:39 AM~5992834

i have been riding 13z with 155/80's for going on three years now with no problem, just don't bury the pedal when you are on the freeway and you will be fine. Make sure to keep with with your tranny service too. Fresh fluid and filter and even a trans cooler will help bro.
