My wife really likes these early year Chevelles and I found one this one for her. I would classify it as your stereotypical "barn find."

I looked up the VIN number and it's a numbers matching true SS with only 70,000 original miles. It was originally supposed to be Palomar Red but someone painted yellow years ago.

I towed the car home and did some minor mechanical work to it to get it running and to my surprise it turned out to be remarkably mechanically sound. I cleaned it up also from its years of sitting and put some old Cragars on it that hold air.

Nice find   put  some wires on it

Thanks, I think she's looking at some 17s or 18s.

I buffed out the old paint so the car would look decent to drive for the rest of this fall until I started tearing it down.

Well, we drove the car around for awhile but now its time to freshen up the paint. Oh yeah, my wife picked up some 17 inch Cragars for it.

Picked up a few goodies ... the car is going to be mostly original but with a few changes. Just a nice street car.

Started tearing the front end down. I decided not to do frame off because the undercarriage is really clean - good floors and trunk.

Eventually I got the front clip primed and edged.
