No, no, no. lol. Thats no good. Overpriced blemished blocks bro. Dont buy an auto parts engine. Been there done that. For $1600 you can get a NEW 350 fully prepped top to bottom and ready to fire. Look around some more. Even look in the paper for someone selling a running 350 for under $300. Very common. That way it'll get you on the road, and still have money to rebuild it and get it chromed out. You'll end up with money left over too.

5.0's are like buttholes, everyone has one. If you want one cheap with a 5 speed, get an 80's Capri, or mustang. For around $500. Thats how I get my stock.

its not for a ford ;) i could get an 85 caprice for $100, but I have no place to put it :(. im thinking about it taking out the engine on the street and leaving it there.

i thought the ones from auto parts stores were really cheap, like $800 or something.... but i have always heard they were assembled in Mexico and dont last.

Jeg's sells the GM Goodwrench crate motors (260hp) that come with a 3 year/50,000 mile warranty for $1300 and the max shipping cost to your door is $200, they also have one with the Vortec heads (330hp) for $2250.

So am I paying too much to have a 350 put in my Cutlass...homeboy is charging me $3G's to put a brand new one in...but I gotta pay more for accessories like water pump, etc....he says that is including labor.????

I didn't even give him a deposit yet....so helpful insight would be great. ;)
