I pulled the engine out of my Regal for a rebuild. I was experiencing minor runability issues such as spark knock, lack of power, missing out...

I pulled the engine with the intentions of rebuilding it completely. Now I am curious if I should just put a cam, lifters and timing chain in.

There was no knocking, no shavings in the pan. All tolerances are correct.

Please advise.

 As little as possible....

I've already got the damn thing out and on a stand....I would beat my own ass if I just did the top end and 6 months later something happens in the lower end.

I guess I'm answering my own ?. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.....

I agree. I pulled the lower end apart last night. There was a considerable amount of wear on the rod bearings.

Thanks for the good advice.
