Just curious, is a '61 Impala frame interchangeable under a '59?

59-60 is a couple of inches longer and the rear brace is flipped around for different bumper brackets.

I put a 64 frame on my 60. I had to use the rear brace off the 60 frame and extend the rear of the frame 4" , but everything else bolted right in. :biggrin:

Oh sweet. Doesn't sound too bad at all. Where exactly is the rear brace???Do you mean rear cross member???

the rear part of the frame where the rear bumper mounts. Extend far enough back so that the
Frame will not be weakened from the weight of the rack.

well of course that plus still reinforce the area thats been cut and welded.
