I have a '63 SS with 283 and 3 speed column shift with overdrive.
I can engage the overdrive, but need to come to a stop before I can disengage it properly.
It disengages automatically below 30mph but then it's like I'm in neutral.

I believe there is an electric component to the overdrive that is obviously not functioning.
How is it supposed to function when working correctly?
What happens when you disengage normally -- I'm assuming it puts the gearbox back into gear normally.
Can anybody help?
