64 neutral safety switch

on my 64 impala SS i want to replace my neutral safety switch but my question is when i went to autozone to buy one they told me its located in the steering column but mines is on my floor shifter so is the switch autozone have work on my floor shifter

no. you can also bypass that switch. not the best idea, but it works.

Cut the wires that go through the switch and splice them together.
