im extending my a arems for my pontiac gp and am wondering how do you remove the a arm bushes is it just the rubber thats removed or is there a metal sleeve aswell that comes out ,also should i reinforce around the bush

There is a metal sleeve in them!! You can heat the area up, but not to hot and then throw ice on it and tap them out. Or if you have access to a press that will work also! And I would reinforce all the way up both sides!

Hmm... I have heard and did see problems with heating suspension parts and then cooling them too fast. But with reinforcing afterwords, it just may be OK.

There must be 6 different ways to change those bushings.

hammer
air chisel
in car (vibrate, direct blows and tighten in)
special bushing driver
ball joint press
Hydraulic press
