Damn, with all the horror stories you hear about organization losing money in the process, it makes you think twice about giving money away but if you can give direct help to those people in need, that's great though...It's a great thing Jason J what your wife did for your fellow americans... After all, americans got to help each other since your president does not appear to take all this seriously...Damn, I saw him laughing it up on CNN last night in an press conference...He didn't seem to be concerned or worried at all...But I give props to your wife for acting so fast...She should be president instead of the emperor and super king George W Bush...

My daughter who is almost 10. When out and collected all kinds of things for the children involved in Katrina. She has gotten boxes and boxes of things. I think it's sad that we have children like her wanting to help out more than some adults are. If a child can help make a difference then anyone of you can also!

Your president is a good example of that...It's a good thing americans have big hearts like your daughter...Damn, these politicians are a fucking joke when it comes to catastrophic events like that...And believe me the leaders that we have here are just as ''not caring'' of their people...Props to your little girl...

people need help, bottom line. i agree with not having a lot of sympathy for those who could have left, but didnt. some very stubborn people, but at the same time, might not be as logical or trusting as others. that might not be totally there fault. its the minority of people being stupid and shooting at the military/law enforcement. if they do shoot, or rape or steal, they should live witht the consequences. such as being shot themselves. i  cant imagine the chaos going on.  also, a lot of the money isnt going to those who are still down there. how about those who are displaced? those who did leave but still need food or water. ignorant and narrow minded to think its only impacting one area. if Fidel Castro can give, no reason anyone else cant.
