i know this is not a interior question, but i guess u guys must know the answer..

i have just made a fiberglass pattern of my front bumper (plastic), to protect the factory bumper i cvered it in masking tape.
i then glassed the bumper & when it dried i pulled off the f/glass.
all came out well and the masking tape stopped the glass from sticking to the factory part....But the resin had soaked through the tape and stripped the paint off the factory bumper..
(not that this is a great problem)..
However.
to stop the same happening to rear bumper, i taped bumper and then layed alluminum foil over tape...
layed up glass and removed part without messing up paint (yeah)
but now i want to lay more f/glass inside the part i moulded of the bumper....

Question.
How the FU*K do i remove this alluminum foil from my f/glass part????????

i could grind it off but i run the risk of screwing up the part i just made??

i thought using foil was supossed to be simple..

Sounds like you didn't use a release agent on the foil before you put on the fiberglass. Assuming you aren't trying to make a duplicate of the bumper using the new fiberglass piece as a mold, why don't you just fiberglass over the foil? Sounds like you just want to strengthen the piece you just made.

you are correct..

1. no release agent used.

2. just need to rienforce f/glass peice that i had made..

so if no release agent is used, its normal for the foil to be a bitch to remove from the glass???

(for what i am doing i did not want any foil left inside the glass)

thanks for reply
