is AMT a good model company?

they are pretty good but Revell gives you better quality and detail most of the time.
Depends on the kit you get. The older the mold is, the worse the quality. Anything that still has a metal axle and little detail on the suspension is old.

It would make a good hopper or dancer. Cuz amt kits have molded one piece chassis' but they usually have more problems like flashing and sinks and pits n' stuff like that.

But not all AMT kits are like that. The 70 Monte Carlo, 68 El Camino, 62 and 67 Impalas are all full detail kits, right up there with the Revell 59, 60, 63, 64 and 65 Impalas. The roller chassis are pretty crappy, but that's just the AMT 63 and 64 Impalas. Revell makes some crap too, most of the gasser models have fit problems and flash galore.

I'm not trying to argue here, but I don't like the way AMT is getting a bad rep when Revell has put out some shit too. To sum it up, brand new molds by both are way superior to the old molds by both.

I can only speak on my own experience, and the models i have built.
He was talking about the 64, that's why i mentioned the molded chassis.

poppa, i'll take ALL your problems off your hands man. i aint even joking ;) ;)

i do agree with the AMT's having sink problems though like the trunk areas and stuff.

now i dont mind trimming flash off, thats no big deal but i shouldnt have to bondo or putty a brand new body even to build it box stock know what i mean.

i like AMT and all but preffer Revell whenever possible but like we've mentioned they both have their problems.
