if that has a timing chain (not belt) and dual over head cams that is gonna be a mother fucker! Usually you just have to take off the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, Valve cover and head.

I've done a 98 3.1L but its similar. Its not DOHC :uh:

I think the job books for about 8hrs so count on about 12-15hrs for a novice. It a typical pushrod motor so not really any different than any other head gasket job. Intake, fuel rails, all electronics, exhaust manifolds, then heads.

It only took a few hour hours in the grand prix. That was an older motor but as long as its just the manifold and heads I should be done with it in a few hours..

You won't be done in a few hours....unless a few hours to you is like 12 or so :biggrin:

There's quite a bit more in the wayt on a 2000 3.8L compared to a 79 chevy 350 :cool:

na, I just wanted to have an idea if it was. There isn't anything wrong with it but its hitting the 100K mark...
