depends..sometimes intercoat or sometimes right in the clear...
but must clear base first then flakes, they stick better...

How long you been spraying flake?

I have no idea how you can do a full flake job for $1200, When i did my 53 spent more than that on just the materials. 5 gallons of clear plus all the other stuff adds up quick! The cheapeast I've been able to do them for people without screwing myself is $3000, and that's pushing it severely.
