carburated and fuel injected...whas da difference? i mean so far all my cars have ben fuel injected but wha is da difference? is one better den da other?...can u put carburated engine into a car made for fuel injected engines? does anything change wit da fuel pump/and filter?

sorry 4 da dumb question im just tryn 2 learn about engines right now.

thanks

on a carburated engine the carb sits on top of the intake manifold and mixs the air and fuel together then sends it into the motor. this is a very mechanical process and can easily be done without any computer(however most later modle cars with carbs are computer controlled). on a fuel injected car the air still comes through the intake but the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber. this process must be controlled by some type of electronics.
yes, depending on the model of engine and carb you could put a carburated engine in a car that had fuel injection.
usally injected cars have a high presure fuel pump that would be to much p.s.i for a carurater to handle, you will want to use a regulator.

fuel injection motors come in a few varieties..
multi port= injector for each cylinder
throttle body= basically a carb with 1or 2 large injector(s)

carbuerator..
mixes gas and fuel in a venturi, and then splits up in the intake and goes to all 8 cylinders..

the multi port fuel injection will run the most efficiently of them all, because each individual injector is controlled by the computer..

you can put a carb motor in a FI car, just ditch the computer.. probably wont pass emissions anymore though.

you can also put a FI motor into a carbed car, just need the computer and wire harness..

I hop dat b helpn u out my man. ne mo questions, jus holla

is the Eldog FWD, I dont follow caddies all too much

if so, that could be a problem..

but thats basically it, take the engine, sensors, and computer and transfer them all to the other car, you'll need to upgrade the fuel system also, because FI runs at a much higer pressure than a carb'd car..

dey r front wheel drive....and my 83 is already FI not carb so it would b str8?

wha im tryn2 figure out is if i should fix dis engine or not. da prob wit da engine is ok it has no power, i can drive it...but i cant really press da gas 2 much cuz durs no real power...i can floor it and nothing much happens....da mechinc said sumthing bout my cylinder preasure...i could barly understand him...so i check n my caddy book and it could b a couple probs...im gettin codes sayin sum shit...den its sayin it could b da distributor which is a lil cracked one of da towers which could b makin it not have power...but da guy said CYLINDER AND PREaSURE so at da end it says cylinder preasure and it could b a leak or blown head gasket........now if its blown sum people say just put a new gasket and sum say if its blown it means durs damage done...and i need 2 rebuilt da engine or overhaul wha eva its called....but if imma rebuild sumthing y rebuild a 4100 aluminum block engine? y not look 4 sumthing that bolts right n like a olds engine....

??
