When installing a "Battery and Pump Rack", should you have the frame supporting the rack;-like cutting holes in the trunk floor and welding vertical up-rights to the frame to support the rack, or can you weld or bolt the rack to the trunk floor with only the floor supporting the rack without kinking the quarter panels? HOW ABOUT SOME OF THE OLD-TIMERS HELPING OUT WITH THIS ONE...Thanks again.

never ever ever to the floor..... make sure u weld to frame leaving space between the trunk floor and the rack.. if you let it rest on the trunk floor it will buckle your quarters

thanks for the quick response. To the frame is where I'm going. The floor just doesn't seem to be strong enough, and I have an older Caddy.
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

weld box tubing to the side of the frame and a smaller diameter piece of box tubing to the bottom of the rack...slide the rack down in and bolt it...i drill two holes...1 up close to the trunk floor and 1 near the bottom of the rack mount
