ADDING METAL IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA!
BUT YES YOU CAN HOP A LITTLE, AND 3 WHEEL WITH NO RENFORCEMENT. I'M JUST NOW STRAPPING MY FRAME, AND MY LINCOLN HAS HAD A 2 PUMP SET-UP ON IT FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS NOW. AND THE ONLY REASON I'M DOING IT NOW IS CAUSE I'M ADDING A 3RD PUMP.
ANYONE CAN TELL YOU FOR A SIMPLE 2 PUMP SET-UP YOU DON'T HAVE TO STRAP YOUR FRAME, JUST DON'T ABUSE IT OR YOUR FRAME WILL BE THE LEAST OF YOUR WORRIES. ;)

fora basic reinforcement with the body on u should do the outsides of the rear humps all the way along to the rear bumper if possible its also advisable to do the insides of the centre sections as this is the weakest part of the frame in my opinion ,the more reinforcements you do the better just remember when you reinforce a stress point the stress will then move to the next weakest place but the stress will intensify
