i got a 63 that is my oldest model and i want to update it. its got a 2yr old paint job. would it be best to strip da paint or just paint over it? im still going to paint it the same color. holla back wit some knowledge. :cool: :biggrin: :angry: ;) :0 :( :uh:

you could strip it off with easy off oven cleaner or if the paint is smooth i guess you could reprimer it and start again....

dont know about testors...dont need a base coat unless you are painting candies or pearls...if so use a silver basecoat. or it wouldn't hurt to shoot a silver basecoat anyways.

just take one of the green scuff pads for washing dishes and lightly rub it all down. you dont need to take the paint off if it is still sticking good. you just need to take the gloss off and give the paint something to stick to. remember just do it lightlt and stay off your detail (trim, emblems, ect) then give those a quick once over.

i do this all the time and works fine.
