I have an 85 cutlass salon, and the transmission went, its a thm200-4r and im either going to have it rebuilt or try and find a 350 turbo, and i was wondering if there is alot of mods that have to be done to drop the 350 turbo in, is it alot of labour?
also what would you guys do?

I almost forgot get a th400 for highway use the top gear is a lot higher for better gas milage, its like .9 or some thing, well its not a lot higher, but it makes a difference, any ways either are easy to obtain and have rebuilt, th400s if you ask me are better, more parts etc but that'd be for racing

*** 350 turbohydramatics are easy to find & can handle good horse power from the factory.. You will lose overdrive but The 400 is not as strong as you would think unless it is built up ..... Our low 10 sec cars have 350turbos in them ....

that 4th gear is nice for highway driving...i would keep it unless you were gonna race the car. Probably cheaper to get a 350 built than the 200

Some 200's don't even have overdrive like my 87 cutty lost reverse and I just replaced it with a 350 turbo, I only had to add a vacuum line and run a different kick down cable and a new dipstick, it has alot more power for the V-6 runs good.

actually th400 can handle more horsepower than a th350. all the blown big block cars use them
