Chroming existing manifolds....

Can I chrome out my existing exhaust and intake manifolds without any problems from the heat or anything else? I haven't found any aftermarket upgrades for my '62 Caddy 390 engine so I'll have to work with what I've got. Thx for any info

Cool thx :)
just make sure that they polish very good. I believe cast "sucks" up a lot of the chrome.
i heard it can turn blue, they have powdercoat that with withstand the heat you may want to look into that as a second option
the chrome will blue but can be polished out with a little effort
i dont think the intake will turn blue cause it dont get that hot like the headers

there is an exhaust crossover that runs underneath the carb that may turn blue from the heat. You can get intake gaskets that block this port off if you can live with your car taking a little longer to warm up.

Dont chrome them, instead get them cermic coated, choosing the polished option (a little more $$$) gets you a beautifull set that wont rust or change colors. Some companies even garuntee that.

Heres a pic of some ceramic coated headers.
