does anyone use a wedge trailer for delivering cars or just toating their stuff? I am getting so many cars across country I need a bigger trailer.....a guy told me that he can build me a two car frame from a mobile home chassis. I was thinking it be better to go and build a 3 car frame, but DOT has a regulation on trailer length ...blah blah blah....

so my questions to you guys is.....

1) would it be better to go with a 3 car wedge? found one for about 3k.....second part is, the trailer is only 40 ft.....has anyone ever had more then two full size classics on it? say, 3 full size impalas or cadillacs?

2)secondly, the mobile home trailer will be on the ball, not on a goose, we can prolly get It to 45 feet. would it be safe to have 10k worth of car on the ball?? has anyone had any experience in this area ?? or any pictures?

3) I have a trailer, started as a mobile home and is now 20ft long...can tow cadis, see pics, but it sways wayyy to much from a tongue that is much to short....would be it easy to add 17-20 feet to this to make it to two car trailer?

here is the wedge.....

at what speed you get 7 m/g?

How bad is the sway?

I thought a diesel truck would be better on fuel mileage when pulling my 40 footer with two sixfoes on it, but NO

I Do 9 miles per galon at 75 m/h

And 11m/g at 65m/h

On both my 6.7 Liter cummins and my 7.3L power-stroke :(

so , there are two sides to any story. the gas engine does good on flat ground, and small to medium rolling hills. i could get up to 75 , but you just watch the gas guage roll! when you get on a hill with any kind of a grade, the truck just didnt have the power to sustain any speed at all. going though west virginia and tennessee, i was climbing hills at about 10-15 mph in some cases. diesel, espcially your turbo diesels have two and three times the torque curve. im sure you can climb hills with your trailer at 50 mph easy.

the best speed i found for fuel efficany was 63-65 mph.....even at 55 the mileage wasnt as good. the way i measured my gas mileage was just how far i got on one tank of gas. front tank is 17 and rear is 18 i think, on really good runs id get 120-125 miles per tank.....yes, fucking ouch! .....but that was getting me 7.3 on front and like 6.9 on rear.......one thing i heard about a 460 , was that loaded on unloaded you will get 8-10 mpg....and that is just true as can be.

i went about 5000 miles round trip. so if i would have gotten 10 mpg i would jump through the rooof! i am searching for a medium diesel to make the trip with next summer. the difference in stopping power is my next biggest concern.

the sway isnt that bad honetsly. it only gets bad when semi trucks are passing you at 75 mph.....the wind coming off the front of those things pushes you into the other lanes.that gets old really fast. one of my weight tickets... a bit much for a f350 i think
