i got an 80 el camino and i need to clean up the chrome bumpers. i need to kno if theres any way i can clean the chrome up with any chemical,material,rub, or polish. id rather not send it off.

find a chemical called master formula chrome and aluminum polish, worked great on my buddies cutty! :cool:

Use the fine steel wool and believe it or not, coca cola. You can also use aluminum foil and coke. There is a chemical reaction between the coke and aluminum foil that cleans and brightens the chrome.

Usually at hardware stores like Home Depot, Lowes or OSH. Remember, get the finest steel wool, #00000 ;)

Just get some aluminum foil and some coke. Pour the coke into something you can dip the foil into. Lightly ball up some foil and dip it in the coke and then rub the foil over the bad spots on your bumper. Just like washing your car with soap and water. ;)

Myth confirmed. ;) They did it on Myth Busters and proved that it makes quite a difference.

If I remember they did it with soda and the did the other side with water as a control and it looked the same. You need a liquid and foil dosnt matter what it is.

you can use very fine steel wool.. but do not rub in a circular motion it will scratch... do left to right... i prefer SOS pads because they have already a cleaning product mixed with it... wet the sos pad and it will clean anything leaving your chrome nice and clean... then polish it... mirror like finish.
