compressor power wire size

I ran a 4 gauge wire from the battery to a fuse block that splits to 2 x 10 gauge wies back to the relays.

I got the 4 gauge and the fuse block splitter from a stereo store, they added crimp connectors on the 4 gauge for me also.

i ran 4 to the trunk .. splits to 2 - 8g wires to the comps

that being said, im gonna replace it all with 0/1, so i can add a stereo.. if i were you, i would spend the small amount more and run 0/1 to the trunk now.. i wish i had

YES 10G IS SUFFICIENT.

im running an 8g all the way back to the relays running 2 Viair 450's, you guys think thats small enough? im not running a sound system yet though if i do ill prolly drop down to 4g

Thicker the better [ obviously ] , 4 from the battery to the fuses, then 8 would be fine

NO NEED TO RUN A BIG POWER WIRE A SINGLE 8G WIRE IS PERFECT..YOU MUST RUN A SOLENOID AND NOT THE PLASTIC RELAYS THAT THE COMPRESSOR COMPANY PROVIDES...ITS TO MUCH DRAW THREW A RELAY..IT WILL BURN UP ON YOU GURANTEED...USE A SOLENOID... :biggrin:

Sorry but this is not true.You mean to tell me that Viair them selfs are wrong to????Part number 93940 40a relay.

And if running more that 1 compressor (most people do or audio equipment) you WILL NEED more that 8 gauge.Then to a distribution block of types
