has any one evr tryed using one of those battery disconnects that use on race cars?? would they work

It would depend on how many volts you are planning on running.

I'm assuming you are talking about those keys that they have poking out the back of the car.

I have a heavy duty switch, similar to that one, that I got from jcwhitney. I'm only running 36 volts and I haven't had any problems yet.

The switch costs about $20.

i run 48 volts with the ocassional 72 v when i feel froggy bbut im using my disconnect on my ground side what bout you??

trust ONLY disconnects that you can see with your own eyes disconnects (goes in 2) thats the rule!!!!!!!!!!!

racecar type disconnects holds up for A WHILE but then they fry and they WILL fry no matter what anybody thinks or says.
trust me on this one...

dam that sucks to hear because they look so clean and would make my interior look a lil better without that big ass welding disconnect
