GET VOGUES. SHAVED WHITEWALLS ARE COOL BUT SOME I HAVE SEEN ORDERED OUT OF LRM HAVE BEEN SHAVED FROM WHITE LETTERS. AND AFTER TIME YOU'LL BE ABLE TO READ THE LETTERS. WHERE THE LETTERS WERE WILL BE DULLER WHITE. IF SHAVE FROM WHITE WALLS SHOULD BE O.K..
DEPENDS ON WHAT BRAND OF TIRES THEY SHAVE FROM. THE ONES OUT OF LRM ARE USUALLY THE CHEAPEST THEY CAN GET. YOU CAN SHAVE ANY WHITE WALL TIRE FROM THE BEST TO THE WORST. YOU SHAVE WHITE LETTERS ALSO. INEXPENSIVELY YOU MAY SEE WHO CAN SHAVE THEM IN YOUR AREA. WHERE I LIVE THEY DO IT FOR $12 A TIRE. THEN YOU CAN USE WHATEVER TIRES YOU CAN GET. VOGUES I S GOOD OPTION AND THEY GETTIN CEAPER 60 SERIES 15'S FOR $109 AND 70 SERIES 15 FOR $129. YOU CAN ALSO FIND IMITATION VOGUES THEY HAVE SHAVED WHITE WALLS WITH GOLD STRIPE CUT IN THE OUTER EDGE. I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GET THOSE. I GOT ONE SOME YEARS AGO I THINK CAME FROM CHICAGO. I GOT A 205/75/15 BRAND NEW FOR $75.AS A MATTER OF FACT I WOULD LIKE SOME MORE, I THINK I'LL DO A NEW TOPIC HERE AND SEE IIF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO GET THEM.
BWT most of the out-of-the-box OG wide whites (i.e. not shaved) are bias ply old skool replica tires for restorers...
these are modern radials...
i recommend the BFGoodrich Silvertown .. i've had both Cokers and BFGs on my Cadillac... the BFGs seem like they are a little better ... the main advantage is that they come in 70-series instead of the taller 75...
