Hey
I gotta strange one, i need help on something.
My wife is writing a script where there is a small scene involving a lowrider (my influence???) She doesnt want to fuck it up so i need to make it real.
anyway, the film is set in 1989, the main dude is a insurance guy and in this (small) scene he is checking out a car to see if the damage is what the guy says it is. ie - the car guy is saying it was someone elses fault not his, obviously lying. The scene is outside a panel shop where the 2 meet.
Dont worry, its not about making lowriders look bad, her husband is one and its just too good an opportunity to have a good looking car on screen..........

anyway the questions are - remember its 1989 in east or central LA somewhere

1 - what car? (it will be a lowrider with a decent paint scheme and velvet interior) Ive got a 64 SS so Im biased.

2 - did anyone even have their lowriders insured in 1989?

3 - what sort of accident should it be, (doesnt have to be big)

4 - Ill check out the years, but what kind of paint shemes were common in 1989

Post up your answers.............
cheers

in those days it was rap, definately death row. old school such as zapp and roger, santana, one way, vaughn, mason and crew (bounce, rock, skate, roll), and true about the funk! PARLIAMENT. some cars did the classic rock like led zeppelin and the doors, i know the guys in lifestyle c.c. name their cars from songs by them. as far as paint goes, old school multicolor flake patterns, interior was diamond or biscuit tuck. like homie said, mini trucks were in those days, as well as the euros such as the ford escorts and nissan sentras. bombs will always be in the lowrider scene. at the car show concerts, rocky padilla, stevie b, and zapp&roger. hope it helped! pm me on the stats of the script and if u need anything else.

OK, you'll need a '62 thru'64 Chevrolet Impala, SS or not, bone stock in appearance with lifts, 13 X 7 inch all chrome 72 spoke Daytons, Sportways, and four 6 X 9's with Zapp's "It Doesn't Really Matter" playing on the Alpine pull-out, loudly. That should do. :)

How bout plain t's, dark colors or the classic whites. NO RED, NO BLUE. Fitted ball caps worn properly and regular fitting to slightly loose pants or shorts. Plain white sneakers and a canvas belt with an initial on it. Now say “action"!! Good luck. :)
