Front Pump Keeps Sticking

424 Views 10 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  lowperformance2
helping a buddy finish converting his 2 pumped s-10 into 4 pumps..... The front passenger pump wants to stick on.......We replaced the solenoids and still no luck.....I changed switch boxes because this one looked fucked-up.....The only idea that i can come up with is that the motor is "shorting" out and grounding power out through the rack.....the reason i have came to this conclusion is we have done about everything possible to that pump and it still sticks.......if you pull the diss-connect, you still have power in the switchbox and are able to use all the dumps......if you are to leave everything connected, but remove the wire from the motor to the solenoids, then you finally kill power to the switch box......... :dunno:

already considered that, that's why i re-wired it again and this time i hard wired it with only two switches to make sure..........
could be a bad switch cord, too. start from the cheapest problem and work your way up that way your spending too much $$$
we thought that to.. so we took the hole cord out and checked it out and we did find a cut in the the wires but we have since cut all of them and retaped them...

i am gona order a new switch box and cord anyways on mon.....

I AM REALLLLYYY GETTING PISSED.... COULD IT BE A BAD MOTOR??
it could be, but it could be anything too. probably one of the hardest things to do when fixing hydraulics is troubleshooting.
