so i guess JL audio is the #1 choice in comps, coaxils, subs, amplifiers and wiring kits now?? :uh:
Well, everytime I hit a car show thats a majority of what I see in SQ systems.....thats got to say something. Dont know if I'd say number one choice for everything though, but they do build some quality stereo equipment, so we cant knock them for that. Most people hate the product because they dont have deep pockets for the higher end stuff or they just hear alot of people talking about JL Audio all the time.

All that means is that in your geographical location that's what's available and most known...

JL Audio fell off the map here in the southeast about five years ago...

why do you need deep pockets to buy a NAME... JL isn't close to being out of my limits (financial wise) but if i can get the same quality for less, or better yet, better quality for less, why not?

i dunno, some ppl see the huge price tag and see it in some fancy installs and automatically figures its the "higher end stuff" or "top knotch"... dont get me wrong, im not bashing JL or those that purchase/favor/work with JL audio, just giving my 2 cents...

I say deep pockets because to buy the higher end stuff its like $600. Yeah I know, there's components out there that are in the thousands but we're talking JL Audio and $600 is alot to an average person. Shit, I can afford it, but I cant get myself to buy it because I am satisfied with the clean sound of my Alpine type-r components.
And they were like $113 each set! ;)

Shit, my homie "crAZy AZ" on this site purchased a set of cheap ass Lanzar OptiDrive Components for under $100 and them boys were clean as hell and loud....and they were underpowered....and most people would say that they are garbage without listening to them...I sure did till I heard them!

where did you buy them? i didnt see any for sale on their website. i found them on a couple websites but they looked kinda shady
Their big in europe. They are not shady one bit. Their money goes in making the product sound good not in looks and marketing. Even the lower stuff sounds good. They make stuff for every budget. Were do you live? Ill see if i can find a dealer for you.

o sorry man i meant the website i saw them on looked kinda shady, not the products themselves. i dont care about looks i just want them to sound good. im in charleston, SC. i know they wont have em around here. all they sell here are the big name brands, jl, mtx, rockford, alpine, etc. if you find a dealer thats great. if not a website is cool
