~ Opening my 79 page HOK Tech Manual ~

-Prime with kp-2cf or kp-21 Epoxy primers if not painting bare metal
kd-2000 if bare metal
- Follow with Ks-11 or Ks-211 sealer after Epoxy
-Strain paint into paint gun , gun distance should be approx 6 in. Walk long objects and apply 2-3 medium coats of BC-25 with 50% overlap - Allow flash time between coats . Maintain even coverage - duh
-Allow dry time before Kandy is applied ( usually about 15-60 minutes and no longer than 8 hours depending on shop and weather conditions )
- Each coat dries dull when next coat is ready to be applied
~ kandy ~
-KBC-05 have a tendency to bleed into artwork applied over them
-USe check sealer SBS-10 to check
-Do not use a full trigger pull for applying Kandy and adjust gin for 5-6" pattern & apply using 75% overlap .
and i'll get back to you on the clear

you can use about any polyurethane base. just use a quality brand. easier to stay within the same brand, but as long as you know what you are doing, then no problem.

might need another quart of base. spray under the hood and trunk last, that way you know if you need more you can buy it. dont want to run out of material on painting the body :nono: :nono:

you dont need catalyst for the bases. that much kbc will give you 10 quarts of sprayable kbc (2.5 gallons). you could pressure wash the bottom of your car and do that too probably. some people say the BCs dont cover well, again depends who you ask. but i think youre going to need more then a gallon and a half to cover from inside the trunk to under the hood. should order your initial amount and see whats left after painting your car. from there youll see what you need. no point on buying too much material, waste of money. you could also use there sealer as a base. could also use intercoat clear (some people just reduce the clear more as an intercoat clear) after the base, in case you need to do touch up later, makes things easier. im sure youll get a lot of advice from people on here. most people are knowlegdable, go through the topics and pm a few guys.
