head unit help

has anyone ever blown a chanel on their deck. Because i just bought a brand new priemier deh p550 and it worked fine for a day then all the sudden all my speakers went realy low except the left front speaker which turned loud and staticy. any ideas why.

it could be anything from a loose wire to a bad unit consult someon at circuit city and they shoudl be able to get you on the right track
i tryed reversing wires to the other speaker and it did the same thing on the other side and i had a good conection so wires are not loose. i just bought this thing too.

If I were you and you still have the receipt take it back.
yeah i didnt buy the 30.00 warranty thing but hopefully they will still take it back

do you have the receipt and has it been over 30 days?
the exact thing happened to me, I was pissed, all I did was I ran another amp for my highs, Eventhough the speaker outputs are now fried, the RCA's still work, so just run a second set of RCA's goin from the headunit, to an amp, and then to your speakers, I'm happy I did it, sounds way better then the factory premier amp.
the amp doesn't even have to be that powerful, best way to go
thats what i did with my premier and it sounded better with an external amp anyhow.
