what would be better 2 12" type r alpines(sealed box) or 1 15 kicker L7 in a ported box either way hooked up to the same amp...lets say a mtx 81000d

please respond cause im about to buy!!!!

the type r's would have better sq but the l7 would be louder. So it depends on what your lookin for

thanks for the reply.......what does everyone else think???.....my friend has 3 12" type r's....would that be as loud as the kicker.....also he has them hooked up to a 81000d and they are duel 4 ohm so isnt that ohm load below 1 and the amp isnt even 1 ohm stable?...how bad is this?....so if i went with 3 type r's what is a good amp that would work properly.........please reply!

With that type of power the alpines would smoke realy quick.

The l7 would fare much better...

But even then, be careful with the gain.

The Alpines have nice baskets and cover for the magnet, but the actaully quality of the VC, cone, surround are lacking a bit more then I care for, while they aren't bad subs I'd be more on the side of a few other types of subs more so then them.... they work good and all but endurance wise, giving more then what they are rated for is a BAD IDEA especially in smaller sealed enclosures.... at least from my experience

Jeremy could fill you in on options for your money, jsut as well as me, that and I don't like to type forever

also better amps for money then MTX, just to say......

my best suggestion is to state your money you have, and what kinda 50/50 60/40 SQ/SPL you want, and what your putting it in.... then it makes itself really aparant to what would be best to any one trying to help

thanks guys........well i saw a modified crossfire 1000d amp on ebay for $280......so i was thinking of picking that up....i know that it kicks the mtx's ass.....well the reason i liked the typr r's was the price and they sounded good to me, but than again i havent really heard that many systems......so what would be a better value than the type r's ....i like l7's too........what could i power with the 1300 watt modified croddfire amp as far as l7's? 2 12", 2 15"?....also i have a grand cherokee if that helps any.........are l7's better quality wise than type r's?.......also any suggestions for inside speakers?and amps for 6-3/4" speakers.........thanks guys please tell me if i should buy this amp
