well i did the sprocket and some other stuff like a mirrior and a bee light well my trick was painters tape lay it down on the part that i was going to engraver and started drawing my design and then cut out the design with a thin razor blade and then took out the part that i was going to engrave then staeted the point of that was to not get out of the line and so it would be perfect and that free hand stuff is great and everything but if youre not perfect or really good theres no point of trying

This is what I use to engrave with, just a hammer and motherfucking chisel. that's it. sculpting is a whole new set of tools. I know I'm going to ruffle some feathers when I say this but... when you use a dremel or similar device to stipple metal to create a design, It's ETCHING! not engraving! Not to put etching down, alot of work looks great. but engraving? no. Hater, me? I think my work speaks for itself. just getting a little tired of people calling themselves engravers when they stipple a few lines when there actually etching. It took me 25 years and four master classes to get were I am today and to be known as an engraver. Would you call yourself a mechanic just because you bought wrench? I would actually love to see the Lowrider engraving world take off. that is how I got into the industry. I thought that most of the work out there looked like crap, two tone only camouflaged flawed engraving. But when I approached some so called engravers to offer "for free" my assistance, they looked at me as if I was the biggest threat to there industry. fearing that accepting my invation would make them look incompetent, saying, shit like I learned all by myself, yeh well it shows!! So many people think that the work out there today is great. But when you have nothing to compare shitty work to, you going to think it looks great. Solution? maybe I'll put out a video on how to engrave, but now I'm busy engraving high end custom choppers. anyway, here are some pics. P.S. allways practice your artwork!!!!!

SO DO YOU HAVE A WEBSITE FOR YOUR WORK??

IT SEEMS WHAT YOU DO IS MORE LIKE SCULPTING..........BUT THEN AGAIN I AM NOT AN ART MAJOR............EITHER WAY IT LOOKS BADASS!!
You do some nice engraving work I seen your work on a chopper:cool: Maybe you should put a video soon so other people can learn  Your work is 3d style I like it
www.tarrera.com My site shows mainly firearms but here it is. Many skills were used to engrave these items. engraving, deep relief. (the indian clamp was four different levels). sculpture. and chasing.
how do you charge??
REC, Yeh, I would love see the industry have many skilled engravers, just like the there are many killer painters. So maybe some day a DVD.
ARE YOU ABLE TO ENGRAVE BIKE FENDERS WITHOUT DENTING THEM ALL UP
