This is what I use to engrave with, just a hammer and motherfucking chisel. that's it. sculpting is a whole new set of tools. I know I'm going to ruffle some feathers when I say this but... when you use a dremel or similar device to stipple metal to create a design, It's ETCHING! not engraving! Not to put etching down, alot of work looks great. but engraving? no. Hater, me? I think my work speaks for itself. just getting a little tired of people calling themselves engravers when they stipple a few lines when there actually etching. It took me 25 years and four master classes to get were I am today and to be known as an engraver. Would you call yourself a mechanic just because you bought wrench? I would actually love to see the Lowrider engraving world take off. that is how I got into the industry. I thought that most of the work out there looked like crap, two tone only camouflaged flawed engraving. But when I approached some so called engravers to offer "for free" my assistance, they looked at me as if I was the biggest threat to there industry. fearing that accepting my invation would make them look incompetent, saying, shit like I learned all by myself, yeh well it shows!! So many people think that the work out there today is great. But when you have nothing to compare shitty work to, you going to think it looks great. Solution? maybe I'll put out a video on how to engrave, but now I'm busy engraving high end custom choppers. anyway, here are some pics. P.S. allways practice your artwork!!!!!
