Some people say to run #8 hoses some people say run #6hoses.
Is it true you get more pressure with #6. Or even running 1/2 #8 1/2 #6 what do you guys think?

you're going to confuse things ;)
"Lo" standards have evolved to be a mix of hose size AND fitting size rather than pure SAE
the # numbers peeps here recognise relate to the JIC size more than the actual hose.

no use gettin' fatter hoses if you dont get a bigger #pumphead and fatter block + fittings.
you gotta upgrade it all to get the best performance out of your setup.

no shit ... my pumps are 1/2 port but the fitting that goes in it is really like 3/8 i.d.

and my cylinders are half inch ports ...but they are reduced to run 3/8 fittings and once again thats 1/4 i.d. flow thru two number 6 hoses t'd on a single #8 hose

so exactly what is the flow rates on each fitting size ...
