I know you was being sarcastic :uh:

there was no battery in it

I thought there was some type of power supply in that metal box

so how much force do you have to hit that thing?
you would have to hit it with a fair amount of force pretty much a car traveling at around 30 so.......

oh. because theres this junkyard where you can pull your own parts, and there was this 92 caprice, and the sensor was exposed, so I was beating the shit out of it with the hammer, trying to make the air bags pop out, but I did'nt know that you needed the battery attached though.
Disconnect the battery, pull the fuse, and unplug the airbad harness in the steering column, then remove it. I have removed several airbags from GM automobiles, the first few were scary as hell, I would still be a little scared around one.
DO YOU KNOW WHICH FUSE IT IS? OR IS IT LABLED "AIR BAG" ALSO..... WHERE IS THE PLUG YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT IN THE STEERING COLUMN

It is labeled airbag.

The plug is labeled SIR and it's yellow, it's under your dash on the steering column.
