There are no A-arms on the back of most cars. Are you referring to the trailing arms that attach to the rear differential housing? If so, it's going to depend on what kind of car you have and how much coil you're running. If it's a g-body, i wouldn't extend the lowers. Look into adjustable upper trailing arms, drop mounts, and a slip yoke for the drive shaft.
