im going to school for welding but what i want to do is lowriders. how do i go about getting a job at a shop? there isnt any around here so i would be relocating when i graduate. r there any shop owners here that would take an apprentice? and what kind of pay to expect to start?

There is no such thing as a lowrider job fair and as a apprentice you would not make more then min. wage, If you become a certified welder and want to make alot more money then join the union :thumbsup: there's not as much money as you think in lowriding
i realize i could make loads better money somewhere else with my skills but i would rather make a simple living at a job i love.besides, i always got a hustle or two on the side for extra cash. i would like to do my own shop but i dont want to jump into it and be like a dozen other half experianced shops that do half assed work. i would like to get some experiance from some of the pros for a few years. i can weld, but am i supposed to open a shop with layitlow experiance? who am i? real hydraulics??

I feel where you're coming from, but I was told by one of the best in the business (Bob "Hollywood" Wagner) personally that there is no money in hydraulic install in cars. He told me to have another skill (engine building, painting, interiors, etc.). Because you'll go broke relying on installing hydraulics.
I suggest you pick up another trade to go along with your welding. Then build your own car to show off your skills. Just opening a shop and placing an ad in the Yellow Pages will not get you off the ground. People are not ging to pay you to experiment on their cars.
