I've used my iwata for 6 years still sprays like new ..
but get whatever you want to waste your money on ..
I've used $40 general purpose guns and set them up to spray fine ..
Its not the gun that makes the job it's the operator ..

Yea he is right I got some sata jets and demoed the top of the line Iwata and binks but the cheap ass guns from habor frieght work about the same just the cup is always shitty like to leak. And when they stop working like new they get turned in to a primer gun.
I'm not looking for a high dollar gun, I don't paint much
go to http://www.sharpe1.com/ and ask them for a refurbished catalog. you can get a $400 gun for under $200.
** You get what you pay for ..... Sata wouldnt be around if the product didnt work .....I have used the binks M-1 -- didnt impress me :( The Sharpe Titanium worked mint(AWSOME PATTERN) the first fews times I used it but ,... You have to rebuild them alot......A waste of $$$ for me.... I have used a $125 MatCo 1.4 gun & that worked really good for about 4 years before it turned t into a primer gun ..... I have sprayed the Sata Digital & that made me -- , I lie the accurate readings that the gun gave me -- sprayed a nice pattern too....I just bought a new "Husky" paint gun from home depot --- Just to try it out ....Has a good feel to it I guess....If not it will be a flake gun or a sealer gun .....

**Like I said , They work mint outta the box but they fall short ....after a few sessions ..... I used it to paint kandy off the bat ...Now its a clear gun ( You cant really fuck up a clear -- Its clear !!!! -- Wet sand it out !!!)--- Has a 1.5 in it .... A 1.3 would be better for kandy/pearl/metallic bases.....

i don't got the titanium, i got the platinum. actually i haven't heard of any problams of both guns. a lot of people seem to be happy with them from the http://www.paintucation.com forum. the good thing about this platinum compared to the titanium is that it can run at a lower cfm. i think 7.4 cfm is all it needed. there are a lot of experienced painters on the paintucation.com forum, if anyone has questions about painting i reccommend they go check out that forum. everyone there is very helpful and answers your questions with a lot of detail and no bull shit.
Guns do not make the painter ,, you can paint succsessfully with any gun once you understand how to set it up ,, ..

** that is not true by any means.... i have a set up & I am still looking for a better product that makes me better ... Products do assist in better painting...... You might have technique & application in the bag but, you cannot shoot a good paint with some shitty ass equipment.... That is the bottom line..... I know you aint sayin that I can take a $26 Menards gun & shoot a mint tri-stage paint with it ... there is no way possible .....A person who has aquired good painting skills with A good gun , good air filter system , a good air compressor , a booth with good lighting , & a good draft system will make for a good paint job ...... You cant paint a car with shitty lights , bad draft , a roofing/nailing air compressor , and a $26 gun from menards ... thats just not in the cards .........Wont happen ... You can take some of the best painters in the world & put them in a booth with bad lighting & bad equipment ---- see how well they do then ....... Take it that they have a shit load of more experience & actually might be able to paint decent but, it wont turn out anything like what they could do ----- Thats if you could get them to even do it ....... equipment does play a big part in all of this......

Without a doubt sata is the best and you will be doing yourself a favor if u got yourself one but if you can afford one right now i would get a SHARPE. I started out with sharpes and they work great. they spray nice and last and that is all that matters in the long run
I use a SHARPE T1, The Titanium series, works great! But like someone said earlier it all depends on the painter. I started out with a Devilbiss siphon feed then gradually made the transition to Gravity feed. My first gravity gun was the Harbor Freight (purple) $40 it still works fine but I use it for primer/sealer now.
Yeah i also use the T1 series and they work great. I definitly agree with what the other person said about it depends on the painter, but it also depends on how clean you keep your gun. A dirty gun calls for a shitty job.
