ok. went 2 start da 59 last week n it wodnt turn ovr. hasnt bin startd in a few weeks, nothn happnd 2 it, jus bin sittn in da warehouse. went thru da usual stuff, startn fluid, chekd carb 4 gas, chekd accelerator pump, battry ect. all accsys work, but stil woodnt turn ovr. shortd da battry 2 da startr side of starter relay n it startd crankin, but woodnt start. at 1st i thoute it was startr relay. so i turnd key on, den unplugd distributr wire n wird a spark plug in it n shortd battry 2 startr n it sparkd. so da ignition coil is gettn a charge, n da spark is gettn 2 all da spark plugs. carb has gas, n ders a spark.

so i know engine electrical is good. im thinkn its da contacts in da keyswitch r not closin da circuit. i turn da key n oil n generator lite turn on, n it activates da coil, but wont engage startr.

cood it stil b da startr relay not switchn the startr on? or voltage regulator and/or keyswitch :confused:

going to have to get a test light and check the terminals at the starter and the key and see if there is a broken wire in between .. possibly a bad connection at the fire wall plug ..

other wise i have heard a lot of peoples ignition switches failing at the start position .

i would knock your spelling and grammar but i see your not from around here ..

let us know what happens

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE FLUX CAPACITOR????

I WOULD BE CHECKING FOR;

1) GOOD BATTERY VOLTAGE min 12.43volts

2) VOLTAGE OUT THE ING. SWITCH, CRANK SIGNAL.

3) NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH FOR VOLTAGE IN AND OUT.

4) POWER TO THE STARTER SOLENOID "S" TERMINAL DURRING CRANKING.

WHAT IF THE VOLTAGE IS 12.42?

lol chea 2maro am off work, so guna dig out da fluke n chek nuetral switch, keyswitch, strtr relay,n fix dis chit 1nce n 4 all :)

mah battrys no good. wont hold a charg 2 good. guna get a yello top soon. had it ona chargr durin testin

will do vato :thumbsup:

i just had the same problem on my 95 silverado and it was the ignition switch however you may want to look for the fuseable links that go down to the starter cause it may be those to just run a jumper wire around them just to see if that works but my ignition was $157 that hurt

n now dat i think abpout it, iv had ign probs on my 96 jimmy n dads 95 suburban.
on my jimmy, da key only works 1 way. if u turn it ovr den insert it it wont turn.
n bolth jimmy n suburban ocasioanally shut off wen driving. il jus b goin down da street n da engine will die. n il hav2 thro it in neutral n start it wyl its stil goin 40mph, den thro it in drive agen :angry:

but chea, am goin 2 da edsel now. gon fix it 1nce n 4all :biggrin:

yep thats exacly what the silverado was doing i changed the ignition module fuel pump and ignition switch and havent had a problem

I HAD A FLUX CAPITOR, IT WAS A KNOCK OFF BRAND, AND IT WOULDNT POWER UNLESS I HAD 12.42 VOLTS OR MORE AT THE FLUX, THAT WOULD CONVERT IT TO 1211.526 JIGGAWATTS AT THE CAPASITOR

k. coodnt find my fukn fluke so i went2 harbor frate n bought sum 10$ thing. puld my startr relay out n hardwird it 2 a seprat battry. hookd it up n jumpd ignition wire. relay clikd n jumpd, wit 12v+ cumn 2 da startr side. startr relays good. :cheesy:

n now dat im thinkn about it, wen i 1st got it lyk 7mths ago, i was able 2 start it in any gear. P D R N. it wood start in any gear n lurch wichevr way da gear was in. now duznt wana start in any gear, not evn crank.im thinkn wen i got it, da nuetral switch was stuk in closed cirkit, (start in any gear), n now 4 sum reason its stuk in closed cirkit( wont start at all)
