You can't chrome bondo, well you could but it will look like shit. What I do is primer them, wet sand and clear them. It has to be a smooth surface for the chrome to look clean.
I've never had a problem plating over bondo, but it does have to be blended real real good and polish the FUCK out of it. Any irregularities in the part will show up even worse when plated

I always remove my pieces and clean them up before plating. Check with the plater to see what's the biggest rack they can take and make your own, glue all the pieces on.
