Scratch, your article was the highlight of the entire mag.

man, i picked this mag up several weeks ago. Right after he said something about it, i got it the next day.
yeah, he told us when he got that mag a couple of weeks ago
Fine.

To all the people in the Aurora, Colorado area, the new LRB is out at the Newsland on Chambers and Iliff. I been looking for it ever since Scratch posted it and they finally got it in yesterday.

Scratch's article was the only one worth reading, the rest of the mag was a mess.

1st article on the 2 builders-the 58 Edsel is not a rare kit. They went on and on about a 39 4 door-they showed a 39 Delivery and a 51 4 door. The raved about Miguel's models-didn't show a single one.

The How-To-what 5 year old can't figure out how to put those spinners together.

The Cruisin for a Cure Show-completely in black and white, so how the hell can you see the 1 inch pictures. Half the page was devoted to a diecast: only mod I could see-dice on the rearview mirror.

I didn't look thru the bike part much, but once again, Denver got featured in black in white. They crammed like 10 shows into 9 pages, 1/2 a page per city, again with little black and white pics.

Is it too much to ask for a decent mag? 6 months to work on a mag and this is the best they can do?

i totally agree as well for 6 months of planing they definitly could have done better. other than scratcns mods and the lac. it pretty much sucked.

maybe they should a section on the builders of layitlow. that would be cool.
they should make it as thick as a LRM.

maybe we should start a petition.

also weren’t they going to have a 3rd issue strictly for online?
With only two issues per year the whole mag should be in color with absolutely no black and white pages except for maybe the adds.
They gave a color photo to the article on Xmod RC cars which have nothing to do with lowriders and show no custom work. When they could have used the color page for Cruising for a Cure.

They realy need to try harder to find people out side of Califorina to feature when it comes to models.

I have to say, that 76 Cady "Reflections" is bad ass and so is that 70 Monte "The Emperor" except for how they censored the murals. Look close at it the next time you can see some color matched stickers or something covering up the murals, it’s strange.

And thanks guys for the complements. The photographer from Albuquerque took the photos of my models and he also wrote the article and it was his first time doing work for LRB. But it was all LRB when it came to choosing which photos were used and how they were used in the magazine.

Well shit y'all, should I even buy the damn thing, it's gonna be a hard find over here too, so I don't know if it's worth the search - maybe just to help support the scene a little huh?

if you spot it at the store, go for it. I wouldn't go hunting all over town for it though.
What I dont understand is why it cost about five dollers for LRB. LRM is also Five bucks and I get a shit load of stuff to look at. Why am I paying that much for about 30 pages of material?

:dunno: :dunno: :dunno:
Yeah same here I got it the day after i saw the post here about it.

I TOTALLY agree there should be a thick issue instead of that small half and half BS. And its so true that they only make like 2 issues a year and parts of the mag are in black and white! they should make a FULL issue like they do with Lowrider mag and still have half and half for the bikes and models.

I pay 6 bucks for this small magazine and i could buy the Lowrider mag for 6 wtf??????

o well great issue and go buy it!

later
Nathan Trujillo works very hard all year round trying to get this magazine out for you guys. He is stuck with a small budget and not much time to get it together. How many other Lowrider Bike Mag's are there? What other mag's feature model cars at all? The fact is this mag could have fallen off and died but Nathan keeps putting it out for the readers. There is not even 1/25 of the readers for LRB that LRM has just look at the cars shows you got 500 cars at a show and what maybe 50 bikes if that many? How are you gonna make a 200 page magazine every month with that kind of coverage and reader numbers. Not trying to hate on you guys I know how you must feel but str8 up magazines are a business and in business you have to play by the #'s. Its not nathan keeping this magazine down to what it is, be lucky he is doing it because without him there would be no magazine for lowrider bikes at all.

What's up homie. I work in a publications office for a private university so I know how hard it is to put together a magazine with a small budget. There are a couple of magazines that deal with model cars out there; Scale Auto and Model Car Mag for example but they also receive a lot of criticism from their readers. As for lowrider bikes, I have not seen another publication dedicated to bringing this part of lowriding scene. I would like to see LRB on the shelf more than twice a year, but I understand what goes into the production of printed material...

Maybe you or Nathan can have a dialogue with us here or on the LRB forum and share with us a little info on how the magazine is created...

Thanks for all your help in the past homie.
