So I bought this lowrider bike off some dude off craigslists about 2 month ago. Its an all chrome bike with a lot of twist and the dude got it off lovely lowrider.com. So it was pretty basic with some added parts, but I love riding it so much that now I wanna take some time a design my own so I can take a little more pride in it cause I got tones of ideas. I spent all last night searching past posts, but I still gotta hella questions.

1. The gayest thing about lowrider bikes bar non is the fact that they don't commercially produce vogue tires. That is so gay to me. It seems so essential. The bike design I have my head 100% requires them to complete the design so I'm going to have to make some so I'm going to need advice on that and pictures cause the past posts had a lot of dead links. It's fucked up cause you gotta not only mix the paint, but to really match a vogue tires you have to paint the black tread part. I would prefer it be ridable, but if not I'll live.

2. the second question is in reguards to lowering the bike. I actually bought a 2nd "scrapper" bike in decent shape off craigslist for $40 cause I wanted to use some of the parts on it. It already had an ext crown/90 degree ring on it and I wanted to use it, but it lowers the bike way too much. I want to be about a half inch off the ground on the down peddle. Will a small spring from masterlowrider.com accomplish this for me?

3. Where can I go to get a frame painted? If I went to a shop that paint cars would they do my frame? Can I spray paint it myself and get a quality result? I was thinking about decal/logo type shit (like raiders logo...) not quite sure though, whats the best way to do something like that without custom painting?

Yea, those were my top 3 thanks.

I HEARD SOMEONE WAS GOING TO DO A VOUGE TYPE OF TIRE BUT IT WAS TO EXPENSIVE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

ANOTHER WAY TO LOWER YOUR BIKE IS TO CUT IT DOWN A BIT. WHERE THE TWO FORK BARS MEET AT THE AXLE, YOU HAVE ROOM TO DRILL A HOLE. YOU HAVE TO DRILL A HOLE IN EACH BAR AND CUT OFF THE EXTRA. IT WORKED FOR ME. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED A PICTURE.

IF I WERE YOU I WOULD JUST GO TO A PAINTER AND ASK THEM HOW MUCH. ONE TIME I WENT AND THE GUY TOLD ME IF I PICKED ONE OF THE COLORS IN ONE OF HIS BOOKS HE WOULD ONLY CHARGE ME $100. ITS GOING TO LOOK BETTER AND LAST LONGER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A GOOD PAINT JOB WITH SPRAY CANS IN PERSON.

Whats so hard about getting a thin paint brush and some mustard color paint? Put the bike on a small jack and spin the tire and lightly press the brush against the tire. There one side is done.

I was gonna have them made about 7 years ago but they wanted me to purchase $20,000 worth of tires right away or they would not make them.

I don't even know where to begin in naming things that are so hard about that. I want them to look as perfect as possible.

If you were in my area I would totally have to hook up with on pushing that idea through. There is some money to be made. If I can perfect a way to make them cheaply I will start selling them myself.

Thats what i was doing back then at $60 a set. The black guys up here were eating them up on the all gold daytons. I could not make them quick enough and it would take up alot of time I needed to get other things done. so thats when i tried to get them made. I made a prototype for a company I delt with and they took them to interbike in vegas and the response wasn't good enough to get them put into production. If it would have panned out I could have sold them for nearly half of that for the pair. :(

I don't want to interfer with some future business plans you might have, but would you mind putting together a pair for me or explain to me how you made them so I put together this bike idea I have...obviously spinning the tire and using a paint brush ain't gonna work. Do you mind posting pics of em too? Thanks.

Waa waa bitch. Do it the expensive way then. At least make shit yourself instead of having somebody else do it.
