i went to the local hydraulic hose/fitting store to get some elbow fittings and they didn't have the regular fine thread fittings, the ones you put teflon tape on and screw into the top of the cylinder. but he did have one with an o-ring on the side that goes into the cylinder and said i don't need teflon tape with this kind...anybody know what the hell i'm talkin bout and opinions/advice...thanks

BASICALLY ALL CYLINDERS SOLD THROUGH LOWRIDER HYDRAULIC COMPANIES USE PIPE THREAD.




O-RING FITTINGS WILL NOT INTERCHANGE.

so i should get a fitting that uses teflon tape? the fitting that has an o ring on it won't work?

what size do you need, I might be able to find a couple here...
just let me know pipe size, flare size, straight, 90, 45...

dave "gizmo" is in GA, I cant remember where, but he is a good guy.


you probably need a 3/8 pipe-#6 jic elbow.

it's the showtime 14" cylinder(yellow) that i need a fitting for going to a #6 or #8 flared end, whichever is bigger.

the yellows have 1/2" ports I believe. I'll look in the morning to see what I have.

yes sir 1/2" ports those cylinders are comp series.

National Pipe Thread ..?/?.your port size hereNPTx#your hose size here JIC

PORT SIZE 3/8 OR 1/2 OR 3/4(RARE) NPT
#6=3/8 HOSE
#8=1/2 HOSE.
