Is there anyway u could give and 86 regal overdrive?? could u swap in another tranny from another car?? if so then what kind?? would it be worth the hassle or am i better off just keep what i got?

Use a 200 or 700r4 tranny with the same bolt pattern as your buicks engine

everything would bolt right up??? all vacume lines would match and all that???
I want to do this cuz i take long road trips and like at 70-75 my shit sounds way winded out and i don't like to be doin that to it..

maybe yes or maybe not you may have to do get a different crossmember, oil dipstick tube, TCC connector, T.V. cable and all that so it could be a hassle

The 700r4 has has a lockup in the tranny and requires a switch. Without it you don't have overdrive and when you hook it up if you don't have a switch that turns off when you come to a stop the tranny will stay locked and kill the engine.... Other than that should be straight forward. For the switch you can get a throttle activated or just a standard toggle swith and run it manually.
