the article was about gang violence. the author's only reference to lowriding was when she wrote "lowrider enthusiasts", which i dont find condescending or demeaning. enthusiast is usually terminology used to shed a positive light on something. the club probably did have a party for people in town for the show, which is only a fact. no connection was attempted to be made from what i read, so i commend the writer for not trying to create something that isnt/wasnt there
